Welcome to the Managing General Agents' Association (MGAA) website, a non profit making organisation, dedicated to true MGAs. The MGAA has been formed to give the industry a better understanding of what an MGA is and what they contribute to the insurance industry. There has often been confusion about this sector.

An MGA is not a wholesaler of insurance products, nor are they a general broker, they are an "entity that underwrites insurance risks, and who owes its primary duties to one or more insurance companies, Lloyd's syndicates or other providers of insurance capacity".

In February 2012 the board of directors were elected by the full members.
There are five separate committees within the MGAA which have been established to deliver benefits and a message to the insurance industry for its members, with a clear aim and understanding of "shaping the future of delegated underwriting".
